A woman from FLORIDA combs overgrown brush in the swampy area where the partial remains of Brian Laundrie were found in hopes of finding more bones belonging to the deceased fugitive.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, has reportedly spent five hours a day for the past 10 days roaming the Carlton Preserve where Laundrie’s skeletal remains were found last month – after a hunt for l ‘man over a month old for the only person named of interest in the murder of his fiancee Gabby Petito.
Images of the woman’s research were posted on someone’s TikTok with the username chroniclesofolivia.
She is seen in a video wearing a gray sleeveless shirt and using a stick to sift through the tall brush on the reserve.
Only part of Laundrie’s remains were believed to have been discovered on October 22 after her disappearance in September.
The TikTok account claims that half of Laundrie’s remains were found by police, and implies the other half are still out in the open in the bush – but people aren’t so quick to jump on that theory.
“How do you know that half of his remains were not found? LE (the police) did not reveal anything,” commented a user on one of the videos of the account.
Others have commented on a litany of “why” and “who cares” on her other videos detailing the woman’s search.
However, the TikTok account, which has over 1.2 million subscribers, has attracted the interest of some detectives.
“All it takes is for her to find the other part of her skull,” one user wrote on a video.
“This could be a big break in the case since the cause of death is inconclusive.”
Others thanked the woman for continuing to search for Laundrie’s remains when authorities stopped.
“We are so happy that she is able to do this,” wrote one user.
Authorities said Laundrie’s “compromised” human skull was found in the reserve and verified by dental records – but an autopsy was deemed “inconclusive.”
“No way or cause of death has been determined, and the remains have been sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation,” Laundrie family lawyer Steve Bertolino said last month.
The official cause of death has yet to be determined.
