In a frowning turn of events, HBO announced that The idolof creators The weekend (a.k.a Abel Tesfaye), Euphoriait is Sam Levinson and Reza Fahimwould undergo some changes.
“the idoThe creative team continues to build, refine and evolve their vision for the series and they have aligned themselves with a new creative direction,” the network said in a statement to E! News. “Production will adjust its cast and crew to best serve this new approach to the series. We look forward to sharing more information soon.”
There’s no immediate word on what exactly these changes are, or who they might affect. Production had already wrapped on several episodes, which will now be redone, according to Variety.
The idol was to follow a club owner and cult leader (Tesfaye) who begins a relationship with a rising pop star, played by Lily Rose Depp in her first lead role on television. The ensemble cast also includes red rocket star Suzanne Son, Troye Sivan and All-American Releases leader Tyson Ritter.
