Why is football so bad right now (and why can’t we stop watching)?

Introduction: Yes, host Michael Rand is fully aware of the contradiction in that title. He spends the show’s first few minutes talking about how bad many games — and by extension, many NFL teams — have been this year, including Thursday night’s 12-9 snooze-fest between the Colts and the Broncos. How do we explain all the bad acting? Rand has a few ideas.

7:00 a.m.: Nevertheless, we cannot look away. Rand hosts Star Tribune Vikings beat writer Ben Goessling on the show to set up Sunday’s game against the Bears. The Vikings are one of eight teams over .500 this season, and they have a chance to improve to 4-1. The Bears are in rebuilding mode and offer an interesting “what-if” for the Vikings.

30:00: The Wild, Wolves and the run at 82-0.
