France, which is one of the big favorites for the final victory, now knows its opponents for Euro football 2024. To advance to the next round, the Blues will first have to face Austria, the Netherlands and the winner of the A play-offs. The countdown is on.
In a little over six months, the Euro football tournament will begin in Germany. The opening match will pit the Germans against the Scots in Munich on June 14. The Blues know their two opponents: Austria and the Netherlands, the third opponent is a play-off which could be Poland. The French will now prepare for this major competition and in particular find a base camp.
A 4-star hotel with swimming pool and garden
During the last Euro, the Blues complained about their hotel. In the midst of the Covid epidemic, the players remained locked up for several days in an establishment with no outdoor space in Budapest. No question of making the same mistake again. For several weeks, the federation has been looking for a pleasant place, confirms Guy Stéphan, Didier Deschamps’ deputy. “It’s important to have a base camp, it’s important to have a good training ground. That’s what we had in Qatar, that’s what we had in Russia. This which also allowed us to achieve excellent performances. It’s on its way, it’s not yet completely validated, but it will still go in the right direction in the coming weeks.”
The place of life should be located in the west of Germany, where the Blues must play two matches. Undoubtedly close to Dortmund, the establishment will be a 4-star hotel with swimming pool, garden, not far from a training stadium. At the microphone of Europe 1, Guy Stéphan also confirmed the holding of several friendly matches, including one in Lyon in March against Germany. Didier Deschamps will give his final list in mid-May for this Euro. Olivier Giroud could play his last international competition there before his retirement.
