A chilling ‘death note’ left by Walmart shooter Andre Bing has now been released, revealing his complaints that people were ‘making fun of me and saying I was like Jeffrey Dahmer’.
The long, rambling note was found on the 31-year-old mass shooter’s cellphone and released by Chesapeake officials on Friday morning – giving insight into his motive behind the horror attack at the supermarket in Chesapeake, Virginia.
In the document, which Bing described as his “death note,” he complained of being “harassed by idiots” who compared him to the infamous cannibalistic serial killer Dahmer.
“They laughed at me and said I was like Jeffrey Dahmer,” he said.
“I would never have killed anyone who entered my house.”
Bing also claimed his “intent was never to kill”, but suggested the tipping point for him was when his phone was allegedly hacked.
“I only did it when I realized my phone had been hacked and was giving the worst feeling imaginable,” he said.
He also claimed that he “just wanted a wife” but “didn’t deserve one”.
Throughout the rambling memo, Bing’s greatest anger appears to be directed at his colleagues at Walmart, making several references to the “executive team” and “associates” who he says “laughed and uttered subtle code speeches that I finally understood”.
Names have also been removed from the document. It is not clear if these people are the victims he killed in the attack.
Bing – who colleagues revealed was paranoid and would cover his mobile phone with duct tape for fear the government would monitor him – claimed a friend ‘betrayed’ him and he heard people saying that they were “trying to get rid of me from day one”.
He said he “castigated” after hearing this.
He continued with an ominous warning: “Associates gave me evil twisted smiles, laughed at me and celebrated my downfall on the last day. That’s why they suffer the same fate as me.
“Sorry God I failed you, it wasn’t your fault it was mine,” the note began.
“I was harassed by idiots with low intelligence and lack of wisdom. I remained strong through most of the torment, but my dignity was completely taken away beyond repair by my phone being hacked.
“I can’t say they were the only ones lacking in intelligence and wisdom, I was equally guilty and let down my management team and everyone who ever loved me by convincing them that I was normal.”
Along with trying to blame his co-workers for his murderous rampage, Bing also pointed the finger at his parents who he said wished they had “paid more attention to my social deficits.”
“My real intention was never to kill anyone, believe it or not I was actually one of the most loving people in the world if you ever got to know me,” he said. said before adding that he “just wanted a wife”.
He went on to say he was showing mercy to one person, whose name has been redacted, because his mother died of cancer – before making a bizarre claim that “let everyone know that bitter apricots cure cancer, not Dr.
He signed the memo with a chilling note: “God forgive me for what I’m about to do.”
Bing had worked for Walmart for 12 years and was a night shift supervisor at the Chesapeake store.
Police revealed on Friday that he had legally purchased a 9mm handgun Tuesday morning from a local store – just hours before using it to murder his colleagues.
The shooting unfolded inside the store’s break room when witnesses said the suspect entered and began ‘spraying’ bullets around the room, before turning the gun on himself .
Police were called to report an active shooting at the store at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday.
The first officers arrived on the scene two minutes later at 10:14 p.m. and entered the store two minutes later at around 10:16 p.m.
Officers found the suspect dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the break room with two of his alleged victims. Another victim was found dead near the front of the store. Three other victims were taken to hospital where they died of their injuries.
The six victims killed in the attack also all worked at the store. They have been identified as: Lorenzo Gamble, Brian Pendleton, Kellie Pyle, Randall Blevins, Tyneka Johnson and Fernando Jesus Chavez.
At least six other surviving victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
One of those victims – Blake Williams – is fighting for his life on a ventilator after being shot in the attack, his family members have revealed.
Bing had no criminal history prior to Tuesday’s massacre.
But, in the aftermath, his colleagues painted a portrait of an employee who had many “problems” with other staff members and who displayed threatening behavior as the shooting approached.
Joshua Johnson, a former Walmart employee who worked as a maintenance worker at the store until 2019, said the 31-year-old gave a heartbreaking warning about what he could do if he lost his job .
“He said if he was ever fired from his job he would fight back and people would remember who he was,” Johnson told CNN.
Another former employee, who worked with the alleged shooter at the store from 2015 to 2018, revealed he was paranoid that the government was watching him.
“He always said the government was watching him. He didn’t like social media and he kept black tape on his phone’s camera. Everyone always thought something was wrong with him,” Shaunrayia Reese said.
“He didn’t like being recorded. He was always afraid that the government would listen.
A Walmart employee who survived the shooting told 10 On Your Side that she believed the attack was planned because the perpetrator was known to have “issues” with other branch managers.
He appeared to target other managers and was heard laughing at one point during the attack, she claimed.
The mass shooting is just the latest to rock America, after five people were killed in a massacre inside an LGBT+ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday night and three star football players from the University of Virginia were shot while returning to campus from a field trip a week earlier.
In 2019, a Walmart store was also the site of another horror shooting. A total of 23 people were killed in a mass shooting at a store in the city of El Paso, Texas.
