Large crowds are allowed to return to outdoor events in Wales and nightclubs are due to reopen as the Cardiff government says the Omicron ‘storm’ has been weathered.
Welsh Prime Minister Mark Drakeford also said it would no longer be a legal requirement for people to work from home, although it would still be important for them to do so if possible.
Drakeford thanked citizens for playing by the rules, which have been in place in Wales since Boxing Day, and for all who have been involved in the vaccination program.
He said: “The actions we have taken together have helped us weather Storm Omicron. The latest data suggests positive signs that the peak may have passed. We can now look to the future with more confidence and plan to start phasing out Alert Level Two restrictions, starting with outside measures.
