Monday was the first time Joe and Jill Biden hosted trick-or-treaters as president and first lady.
Some 5,000 guests – children and their adult attendants – were expected to pass through the doors of the White House. They were invited through local community groups, relevant organizations and trade unions.
Details of what the president and first lady distributed to the deceivers have not been released. For the past few years, they have received small boxes of Presidential M&Ms and/or a White House baked cookie. Michelle Obama has added dried fruit in her quest to help kids eat more healthy foods.
