However, just days after the official announcements, queues were seen outside pharmacies to acquire self-test kits and medication.
The government is seeking to phase out ‘zero-Covid’ restrictions that have seen millions of people across the country confined to their homes and sparked protests calling for President Xi Jinping’s resignation.
Xi’s government began easing controls on Nov. 11 after promising to reduce their costs and disruptions.
