Ukrainian rescuers on Thursday removed a 500-kilogram air-dropped bomb from the roof of a residential building in Kharkiv.
The bomb was dropped on the building in the Saltiv neighborhood three months ago.
Deminers had removed the detonator from the bomb the day after it was dropped, but continued shelling in the area had so far made it impossible to remove the shell.
“Currently, the city is relatively calm and allowed to carry out this work,” said the head of the humanitarian demining unit Ihor Ovcharuk. “When there were bombings and direct war in the city of Kharkiv, these works were usually not done by anyone.”
