VIDEO: Argentina honors Lionel Messi and the Albiceleste on a mural

After Argentina’s victory over France in the World Cup, Buenos Aires pays tribute to the men who represented the country.
A mural, painted by Maximiliano Bagnasco, captures the moment Lionel Messi lifted the iconic trophy.
Dressed in the traditional Qatari Bisht, Messi stands at the center of the artwork, holding the trophy aloft.
Behind him is goalkeeper Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martínez, who was the national hero in the shootout that saw the Albiceleste win the title for the first time since 1986.
Bagnasco is also the creator of a monumental fresco of another of Argentina’s great soccer heroes, Diego Maradona, in a building on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
It was inaugurated on October 30, when the 1986 world champion would have been 62 years old.
