As the war in Ukraine enters its third month, Russia has reportedly made regional gains by stepping up its attacks in eastern Ukraine. Because of this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the next week of fighting would be “difficult”.
Euronews correspondent Anelise Borges is currently in Dnipro, neighboring the Donetsk region. The city is close to the front lines and is a haven for some fleeing fighting in the east and south of the country.
Many soldiers who spoke to Euronews said they would accept nothing less than the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity. Zelenskyy, for his part, said any compromise with Russia would be subject to a referendum.
