Eubank Jr vs. Elbir: What was said?
Eubank Jr is aiming for a clash against the great Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and “pushed hard” to make it happen next year.
He said: “He’s the only one that I would put on weight again to fight and yeah, he’s lacking guys to fight.
“Nobody wants to fight it and the guys who want to fight it, [they] don’t really want to fight it.
“I don’t care about any of that. I want to beat him. I want to fight fire with fire. The fans know that.
“This fight is definitely a fight that can happen, and I think next year we’re going to push hard for that.
“I mean who else is there?” Beat Saunders, beat Callum Smith, there’s no one else. “It would fill the bigger stadium.
“Who else in the world does everyone want to see Canelo fight?” You have Caleb Plant but there is all this politics.
“No one in the middleweight is trying to fight it. Golovkin has fought him twice already.
“People want new, fresh blood to test it and that’s me.”
