UK: Man arrested after vehicle slams into Downing Street railings

A vehicle hit the gates closing access to Downing Street, the street in which the Prime Minister’s offices in London are located, on Thursday, police said, adding that a man had been arrested. “At approximately 4:20 p.m. (3:20 p.m. GMT), a car crashed into the Downing Street gates on Whitehall”, the avenue on which Downing Street opens. “Armed officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving,” police said in a statement.
