WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Ultimate Training Munitions has been awarded a $53.7 million contract to supply munitions to United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM), the Department of Defense announced in a press release.
“Ultimate Training Ammo [of] Somerville, New Jersey, received a [SOCOM] contract with a performance period of five years worth $53,733,000,” the Defense Department said in the statement on Friday.
The munitions are purchased to support SOCOM special operations forces acquisition, technology and logistics, according to the release.
“The majority of the work will be performed in Somerville, New Jersey. As cited in Justification and Approval for Other than Full and Open Competition for Force-on-Force Munitions executed by SOCOM’s Director of Purchasing,“adds the press release.
