Twitter users have a lot of fun with bizarre interview with former Trump campaign lawyer Sidney powell, during which she briefly stormed the set, asked the reporter if she worked for a voting machine company and at one point said the words “I’ve been in me for a long time.”

Ms Powell is perhaps best known as one of the Donald trumpthe EU’s most zealous lawyers in the aftermath of the 2020 election, which the former president falsely claimed was robbed. In press conferences and in court, Ms Powell pushed many disproved conspiracy theories about voting, committing at one point to “Freeing the Kraken” new evidence of fraud.

In a maintenance for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, journalist Sarah Ferguson grilled Ms Powell over her claims. In particular, Ms Ferguson focused on two voting machine companies – Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems – who are currently sue mrs powell for defamation.

“What research or fact-checks did you do at the time to find out what was Smartmatic’s real involvement in the election? ” The journalist demand.

“Do you work for Smartmatic? Ms. Powell fired back. “I mean, I don’t understand why you are here. “

“Because you have made a series of very strong allegations against Smartmatic and against Dominion, containing many errors of fact,” Ms. Ferguson patiently explained.

The interview went even further from there.

“You said Smartmatic owns Dominion. How do you justify such a fundamental factual error? Asked Ms. Ferguson. (Smartmatic does not own Dominion.)

“I’m going to stop this interview,” replied Ms. Powell. “It is completely inappropriate in the litigation in which we are. “

“We are not even in the zone of a great conflict”, protested the Australian journalist. “These are the simple facts of who owns what.”

“No, we’re done,” replied Ms. Powell, getting up to leave.

On Twitter, where video clips As the interview quickly went viral, viewers praised Ms Ferguson’s series of tough questions and wondered aloud how Ms Powell’s lawsuit would unfold.

“Wow! This is just great! A user wrote. “If Sidney can’t handle a reporter asking her factual questions, then how the hell is she going to behave on the witness stand?”

“The Kraken fell back on their emotional support dog when a reporter asked them very basic questions,” another said. commented, apparently referring to the little Shih Tzu that Ms Powell continued to pet during the interview. “She’s not going to do well when she is sworn in, in court, without an emotional supportive pet and grilled by seasoned federal prosecutors with receipts.”

After a few cuddly shifts, Ms Powell returned later for more questions. It didn’t go much better for her.

“It was essentially a bloodless coup where they took over the presidency of the United States without a single shot being fired,” Ms. Powell said at one point.

“Who is ‘they’ in this sentence?” Asked Ms. Ferguson.

“I don’t know who all of the ‘they’ are,” Trump’s former lawyer replied. “I would really like to know the answer to that. But that’s a significant number of ‘them’, and they knew exactly what they were doing. “

Ms Ferguson then moved in to kill him.

“Have you ever got along and do you think that sounds ridiculous?” ” she asked.

“No,” replied Ms. Powell. “I know myself very well. I have been in me for a long time.

On Twitter, viewers marveled at the strangeness of this response.

“‘I have been in myself for a long time’ is a phrase I was not ready to hear from a person suspected of being sane”, a person wrote.

“‘I’ve been in me for a long time’ is the most alien body thief thing I’ve ever heard,” said another. commented.

Another user suggested a follow-up from Ms. Ferguson.

“This raises the question, ‘How long have you been out of yourself? “”
