The January transfer window is fast approaching and already Arsenal and Chelsea are pushing for early signings. Mykhaylo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos are just some of the names heavily linked with a Premier League switch.
Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal they need to be active in the market with replacing Gabriel Jesus a priority. Ferran Torres and Dusan Vlahovic have also been mentioned as targets while Cristiano Ronaldo remains a free agent. A bid for Adrien Rabiot has also been rumored but Tottenham are keen on the midfielder, with Spurs also interested in Weston McKennie and Pedro Porro.
At Chelsea, youngsters Fofana and Santos are set to complete a double deal as they continue their eyes to the future. Follow all the latest transfer news, rumors and deals with Standard Sport’s live blog!
Ronaldo set to sign seven-year Saudi contract
Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr will last for SEVEN years.
The first two and a half will involve playing for the Saudi club, according to Marca.
A five-year term as ambassador is then set to follow before the deal is imminently announced – with an annual salary topping £175million.
Ronaldo will play an important role in the Saudi-Greek-Egyptian bid to host the 2030 World Cup.
Torres available for Arsenal switch?
Arsenal are confident they can complete a deal for Ferran Torres.
The Barcelona winger has been the subject of new transfer rumors ahead of the January window.
And transfer reporter Dean Jones has reported on the heightened feeling in the Gunners camp that Torres will be available.
Chelsea join the McKennie race
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Weston McKennie.
Italian newspaper La Stampa report that the Blues and Borussia Dortmund are watching the American midfielder, who Tottenham have long been interested in.
A fee of £25million will be required to sign the player from Juventus.
Arsenal and Spurs battle for Rabiot
Juventus only want £13.5million for Adrien Rabiot.
The France World Cup star is out of contract in June and La Repubblica have reported demands for £170,000 a week for his next contract, which Juve will not pay.
Hence, Arsenal are said to be ready to sit down and discuss a deal while Tottenham chiefs Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are also intent on signing the midfielder.
Chelsea strike a double deal
David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos are expected to sign for Chelsea.
The young forwards, aged 20 and 18 respectively, agreed to transfers in January as part of the Blues’ continued push for young signings.
Newcastle and Manchester City followed Vasco da Gama star Santos, who was praised for his physique and technique.

Arsenal boost in Mudryk talks
Arsenal have the green light to land Mykhaylo Mudryk in the January transfer window.
That’s according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has highlighted the winger’s willingness to agree a deal with the Gunners.
Shakhtar Donetsk have so far resisted £86m for Mudryk but could lower the fee once a replacement is signed.
And Brazilian outlet Globo say exactly that has been identified, in the form of Botafago striker Jeffinho at just £7million.
