Tottenham XI vs Preston: line-up planned, team news confirmed, most recent injury as Arnaut Danjuma hopes to make debut

Having been close to completing a loan move to Everton from Villarreal, Danjuma had a change of heart as Spurs hijacked the decision to bring the winger to north London for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old is eligible to feature in the FA Cup fourth-round clash, although it seems unlikely that Antonio Conte will throw him straight into action early on.

Fraser Forster is expected to come into the squad in goal, as he did in the third round against Portsmouth, and he is looking to put more pressure on the out-of-form Hugo Lloris with a solid display.

Tottenham have more than a week until their next game, at home to Manchester City in the Premier League, so Conte has the chance to name a strong side against the Championship club.

Ryan Sessegnon and Matt Doherty are expected to come in at the back, while Pape Matar Sarr is an option in midfield. The 20-year-old hasn’t played since a tough North London derby.

Richarlison is set to make his first start since the World Cup, and Harry Kane will hope he is not rested as he contemplates the goal that will take him past Jimmy Greaves and to the top of Tottenham’s goalscoring charts.

Lucas Moura remains out for Spurs, while Bryan Gil is a slight doubt.
