Tottenham player ratings vs Preston: Resurgent Son and Danjuma offer insight but Sessegnon squanders win

After a lackluster first half, Son fired Spurs with a superb ranged mark shot before doubling their lead with a cool finish inside the box.
Danjuma, a second-half substitute, marked his debut with a first finish to see the Championship side.
Dan Kilpatrick was in Deepdale to assess Spurs players…
Fraser Forster 6
Untested, other than routine backups, but commanded its area well.
Japhet Tanganga 7
Pushed forward and set up Son’s first goal, but with a simple pass.
Davinson Sanchez 6
A few nervous moments running towards his own goal but did enough for the clean sheet.
Clement Lenglet 5
Its distribution, usually a force, was erratic.
Matt Doherty 5
Offered little rear wing on a quiet evening.
Rodrigue Bentancur 7
Sloppy at times but looked a class apart on the ball.
Yves Bissouma 6
Kept the ball moving well but still lacked the dynamism that characterized his performances at Brighton.
Ryan Sessegnon 4
The final ball was consistently sideways in a wavering display. Slightly improved in the second half and Perisic headed his cross goals.
Dejan Kulusevsky 7
Had a few efforts blocked in the first half and looked a threat when he went on the ball, setting up Danjuma’s goal.
Heung-min Son 9
Scored two brilliant goals in his most spirited performance in months. Twice tested Preston keeper Freddie Woodman in the first half as well.
Ivan Perisic 6
Largely peripheral in an auxiliary centre-forward role for the first 70 minutes, but tested Woodman with a header and assisted Son’s second.
