Tottenham hope Antonio Conte signs new contract ahead of further talks this week

Ottenham are set to negotiate a contract with Antonio Conte this week as they attempt to tie the Italian down to a new long-term deal.
Conte’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Spurs have scheduled further talks with chairman Daniel Levy and general manager Fabio Paratici.
There is optimism that Conte is happy at Tottenham and will commit his long-term future to the club.
But Conte is set to want reassurances on plans for the January transfer window as he targets a top four finish and a deep run in the Champions League in the second half of the season.
Discussions will likely focus on whether Conte feels the club shares his ambition.
Conte has been touted in the Italian media for a return to Juventus at the end of the season and he spent time in Turin during the mid-season World Cup break.
The 53-year-old is now back in London as Spurs step up preparations for the return of the domestic season after the World Cup.
Conte signed an 18-month contract when he joined Tottenham in November 2021.
Spurs have the option to extend this deal for another year, but they want to tie it on better terms.
Spurs are currently fourth in the Premier League. They return to action against Brentford on Boxing Day.
