Tipping Texas Whataburger employees leads to man’s arrest for indecency with child

A Texas man was arrested last week after employees of a Whataburger reported to police that he was in the fast food joint with a minor, and the situation did not appear to be right, according to police.
In a Facebook post Friday, the Texarkana Police Department in Texas said it received a 911 call from employees of a Whataburger restaurant on New Boston Road just before noon Tuesday.

“They told us that a young girl and an older man were there eating together and that something was wrong with the situation,” the message read. “As we started trying to figure out what was going on, it became increasingly clear that their instincts were on point.”

An investigation revealed that the man, identified as Michael Clark, 79, and the 13-year-old girl “barely knew each other”.
Police say the 13-year-old girl said Clark offered her money in exchange for sex earlier that day and touched her inappropriately during a previous encounter a few weeks earlier.

On Tuesday, police added, the girl was walking down the street when Clark picked her up and took her to Whataburger.

Representatives for the fast-food chain did not immediately respond to inquiries about it.
After further investigating the situation, detectives obtained a warrant for Clark and arrested him on Wednesday for indecency with a child and solicitation of prostitution.
He is currently being held on $225,000 bond.
