The Gard returns to orange vigilance for risks of thunderstorms and floods – France

The Gard returned to orange vigilance this Tuesday at the beginning of the afternoon, facing the risk of flooding following thunderstorms and heavy rains which have affected since the end of the night an area ranging from the Montpellier and Nîmes regions to in the Cévennes, Météo France reported. The department had been placed on red vigilance for a few hours at midday.

This pluvio-stormy situation was to continue until the beginning of the afternoon in the north of the Hérault and especially in the Gard, with locally violent thunderstorms and not very mobile, in particular on the first reliefs of the Gard. At midday, the Gard firefighters had not carried out “significant interventions related to this meteorological event,” they said in a statement.
