Terence Crawford hints at potential fight with Canelo Alvarez ahead of Shawn Porter’s showdown

The 34-year-old is preparing to fight Shawn Porter in Las Vegas on Saturday night, but has claimed he wants to face Alvarez, who recently hinted that he wanted to take time off after beating Caleb Plant earlier this month .

The WBO welterweight champion – speaking to ESPN – revealed he’s keen on taking on the biggest challenges.

“I don’t believe Porter is the only welterweight I can show my talent with at a high level,” he said.

“I think Keith Thurman is a bigger fight in my eyes. Keith Thurman does everything he does.

Crawford was also keen to stress that he didn’t believe he was being given the credit he deserved and hinted that a fight with Alvarez could help change that.

“Look at Floyd Mayweather, no one gave Floyd credit,” he said.

“They wanted Floyd to fight GGG at 160 [pounds]. I have to fight Canelo [Alvarez] Following.”
