The family of missing British actress Tanya Fear have confirmed that she was found unharmed by police.
The Los Angeles Police Department had previously said it had been informed by its missing persons unit that Fear was found alive.
The actress, who starred in Doctor Who in 2018, was last seen leaving her apartment at the Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles, Thursday September 9.
A tweet from the FindTanyaFear Twitter account, which is run by her family, said: “It is with great pleasure and relief to announce that Tanya has been found safe and sound by police today.
“We understand that she is not physically injured, but as a precaution she is being assessed at a local hospital.
“We would like to thank the police, members of the public for their efforts to locate Tanya, as well as for the wave of concern and support over the past few days.
“Tanya’s family are relieved and extremely grateful.”
A statement posted to the Twitter account earlier on Monday said she left without her cell phone and purse and that a friend had reported her missing.
Fear’s mother, Yvonne Marimo, said at the time: “I am devastated by this situation and I call on anyone with information to come forward to bring our daughter home safely.”
The statement, released before she was found, said her family wanted to start their own search and were applying for visas to travel to the United States.
Fear also starred in the French series Spotless, as well as the movie Kick-Ass 2, and had recently performed stand-up.
She is best known to British audiences for her role as Dr Jade McIntyre in Doctor Who.
