SUNY Chancellor Called ‘National Embarrassment’ Over Secular Emails Regarding Cuomo’s Prosecutor, Will Not Resign

New Yorkers are calling on Gov. Kathy Hochul, D., to fire the head of SUNY, a system of public colleges and universities in the state, after recently released transcripts revealed his lay messages for Lindsay Boylan, a former aide who accused former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D., of sexual harassment.

The state attorney general’s office this week released documents as part of the sexual harassment investigation against the former governor, partly exposing the influence of CNN host Chris Cuomo as an adviser unofficial. CNN has suspended Cuomo indefinitely after two days of outrage over his ethically questionable behavior.

But more shocking Emails are coming out of the dump of documents including how SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras heckled Boylan while serving in the former governor’s executive chamber over his complaints about a toxic work environment.

In a private exchange with members of the Executive Chamber, Malatras wrote: “Malatras to Boylan: fuck you.”

The documents also show that he told staff about his intentions to “drive her crazy” and suggested, “let’s publish some of his crazy emails.”

When local journalists confronted Malatras about the messages and calls for his resignation following a public hearing in Albany, the chancellor said he was “not proud” of the language he used, but that he was going to concentrate on his work at SUNY.

“That was many years ago, people have disagreements in very stressful jobs, I should have used different language, that was a long time ago, I have to focus on SUNY,” said Malatras .

His words hardly convinced Boylan, nor his many detractors.

“Apparently @jimmalatras intended to “drive me crazy”, shedding light on my experience as a mother in this toxic place. But I would never have seen his tweets if other of our female colleagues hadn’t been disturbed and affected by what he was doing and alerted me, “she tweeted.

With Malatras’ resignation requests gone unheeded, worried New Yorkers and lawmakers are now asking Hochul to step in. His refusal, the New York reporters suggested, would be a classic case of hypocrisy.

SUNY did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The attorney general’s dump of documents revealed that Chris Cuomo had acted as his older brother’s unofficial adviser throughout the scandal, including helping to unearth the filth of his accusers. Boylan has denounced the CNN controversy, accusing certain on-air figures, such as Brian Stelter, of being complicit in the Cuomo’s “abuse of power”.
