Comedian Chris Ramsey’s elimination in 2019 also came as a shock after he performed a mind-blowing rumba.

EastEnders actress Emma Barton, CBBC star Karim Zeroual and former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher secured a place in the final, while Chris and his dance partner Karen Hauer were eliminated from the BBC One contest in semi final.

They lost their chance to get their hands on the glitter ball after a dance with Zeroual and Amy Dowden.

The couples performed in front of judges Shirley Ballas, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.

The judges opted to save Zeroual, saying he was the “best dancer” and the couple’s routine was “brilliant”.

Ramsey, who has become a household name since joining the show, said he was “very proud of me” for coming this far.

“I never thought I would make it through the second week, really I had no expectations,” he said.

“I’m amazed and have to thank Karen – she’s just amazing and so patient it’s crazy!

“I had sleepless nights in the build and no one else could make it what it was.”
