Strictly Come Dancing 2021: Week Ten – Live | TV & radio
Heidi’s Hunches – it’s a show of two halves
So we have six couples left, and if general dance prowess / consistency of performance is anything to do (and it’s by no means a given in these weird judgmental times), it still looks like AJ, John and Rose for the Grand Final.
In some ways it’s a shame Robert left the series and it’s not a four-way final as I think the battle for fourth would have been very tough between Dan, Rhys and Tilly. It’s also worth noting that AJ has his Couple’s Choice tonight, which just leaves John and Johannes who haven’t played that particular wild card. Maybe next week?
So who’s going tonight? Dan has a Rumba, which in any other year would be knocked out through a trap door in the Strictly dancefloor. But Rhys has a waltz and he’s not at his best in grip, and Tilly has a Samba of Doom, so anything can happen. I’m not ruling out a HUGE upheaval – there is definitely still time. EXCITING (and also quite stressful).
It’s a Strictly Special on The Hit List tonight, which makes it 400% more watchable (although we’re starting from a very low base).
We have arrived at the tenth week!
Good evening everyone and welcome to this week’s Strictly Come Dancing live blog! Today we were beaten by Storm Anwen from the north and the Omnicron variant from the south, but luckily we are all calling out of the madness for an hour and immersing ourselves in a strictly glimmering community bath. Who is in?
It’s week ten, we have six couples and four gigs left to go, and the pressure is ON to pull something special out of the bag this weekend and land a coveted quarterfinal spot next week.
No themes this week, which means it would usually be the shortest show in the competition before it goes up for auction at TWO DANCES next week. But looking at the schedule, two dances seem to be just the semi-final this year, so next week’s show is even shorter. BE PRAYING.
Craig is back on the jury this week, but now Motsi is out because she has been in contact with someone with a positive Covid test and is not exempt from isolation because she has had her jabs in Germany. So Cynthia Erivo is back for another week as a substitute judge, and I hope someone has made it clear that taking the Motsi seat comes with its own special dress code.
Kicks off tonight at 6:55 p.m., so get your family, pets, and cheese snacks together and I’ll see you!
