Météo France reported, this Sunday morning, the risk of “violent thunderstorms, with intense precipitation, hail and strong gusts of wind” from the middle of the afternoon. The departments concerned are Manche, Calvados, Seine-Maritime, Orne, Eure and Sarthe.
“Storm cells can be accompanied by sudden gusts of wind close to 80 to 100 km/h sometimes a little more, as well as hailstorms. They also bring high rainfall intensities, with cumulative rainfall that can be between 20 and 40 mm in less than an hour,” specifies Météo France. The risk of thunderstorms should subside in the evening.
Breton departments on yellow alert
“Elsewhere, the risk exists but seems more temporary. Storms will persist in the night from Sunday to Monday from the South-West to the North-East borders, but they will be less intense than the previous ones, ”adds the organization which has placed 86 departments and Andorra in yellow vigilance. Corsica and the departments of Hérault, Gard, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse are the only ones not to be subject to any particular vigilance.
