WWE has announced it will be returning to the UK after a near two year absence.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, WWE has not been on UK shores since November 2019, but now they will return for a four-city tour in September.
The tour starts in Newcastle on Sunday, September 19. Then it moves to London and the O2 Arena on September 20, Cardiff and the Motorpoint Arena used for NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff on September 21 and it finishes in Glasgow on September 22.
Full list of arenas and dates can be found below:
- Newcastle – Utilita Arena (Sunday, September 19, 2021)
- London – The O2 (Monday, September 20, 2021),
- Cardiff – Motorpoint Arena (Tuesday, September 21, 2021)
- Glasgow – The SSE Hydro (Wednesday, September 22, 2021)
This is a SmackDown live event tour, so superstars like Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks, The Usos, Bayley and Big E are expected to be in action.
There is also rumoured to be a WWE Draft occurring following SummerSlam on August 30 and September 3, according to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast. As a result, the talent mentioned could change.
WWE were meant to come to the UK in May 2020 for their annual post-WrestleMania tour, but of course the coronavirus pandemic halted those plans and WWE are only returning to touring in America on July 16 – they’re still currently in the ThunderDome.
Still, it’s great that WWE have made the UK a priority and have sought to get over to the British Isles at the earliest opportunity.
