Manny Pacquiao has issued a strong response to his former foe Floyd Mayweather after hearing the American’s recent comments about his upcoming fight with Errol Spence.
Mayweather recently faced YouTuber Logan Paul in an exhibition bout and openly boasted about the fact he pulled off a ‘legalised bank robbery’.
Floyd has since claimed he made $100million for the ‘sparring session’ at age 44.
Meanwhile Pacquiao, 42, has signed to face unbeaten, unified champion Spence in his prime on August 21.
When asked for his thoughts on the fight, Mayweather said: “Of course, I’m behind Errol Spence 100%.
“I wanna see Spence win. Actually, I’m gonna call him and give him some pointers…
“Pacquiao, he has to fight, I don’t. I put myself in a position where I don’t have to fight anymore.”
Pacquiao responded in his native language on the Power & Play show: “I’m not like some other guys who are in it just for the money.
“Some other fighters challenge non-boxers just to get paid. I want to fight. I want to challenge the best.
“If I’m fighting for the money, then I would have picked some scrub to fight.
“Why would I try to fight an undefeated fighter if I’m chasing the pay cheque?
“This is a real fight. I fight because this is my passion. I love beating undefeated fighters and bringing honour to my country.”
