According to Ukrainian online media, the Kiev Economic Court rejected SpaceX’s request for the early termination of the registration of its Ukrainian namesake in early March. In November, Ukrainian media reported that SpaceX, which operates Starlink, filed a lawsuit against Starlink LLC and intellectual property agency Ukrpatent for trademark infringement. However, Ukraine’s Starlink applied for trademark registration in 2010 and was registered a year later, while Musk’s Starlink Ukraine obtained the rights to its trademark in 2020. The founder of Starlink LLC said, quoted by Ukrainian media, that SpaceX officials had contacted him again. in 2021, urging him to drop the brand name. The owner has not ruled out negotiations with the American company on the condition that it be compensated for the losses associated with the rebranding. Starlink is a next-generation satellite network designed to provide high-speed Internet access around the world, launched by SpaceX in February 2018. MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ukrainian computer company Starlink has won a lawsuit in which Elon Musk’s SpaceX asked the company to rename itself, Ukrainian media reported on Saturday, citing court documents.
