South Korea’s 2-1 victory over Portugal sees them through to the next stage

It was another day of twists and turns at the FIFA World Cup, with South Korea booking their place in the round of 16 in spectacular fashion by beating Portugal 2-1 at the last minute and taking second place in Group H. .

Uruguay, who reacted badly to their result, surrounding the referee on a decision not to award them one of two penalty decisions. They were knocked out of the next round despite beating Ghana 2-0.

Korea advanced on goals scored. They will face Brazil in the round of 16.
