Hundreds of FedEx packages were found dumped in a ravine, according to an Alabama sheriff’s office.

MPs were called to the ravine of private property in Blount County, where they found 300 to 400 discarded packages.

“To everyone in West Blount County, missing FedEx packages. I currently have an assistant at a location where it looks like 300 to 400 boxes of assorted sizes were thrown out of a ravine. A FedEx zone manager is on his way to the scene. Hopefully we will have some answers soon, ”Sheriff Mark Moon said in a Facebook statement.

FedEx “sent several trucks and drivers from across the south” to start loading packages onto trucks on Thursday.

Later that day, the sheriff said the company was “making a dent” in salvage and cleanup operations.

FedEx said in a statement that “the security of our customers ‘shipments is a top priority and we are committed to handling our customers’ packages with the utmost care.”

And the company added: “We are taking measures to recover and transport the affected packages as quickly as possible.

“In addition to cooperating with law enforcement, we are reviewing this situation and will take appropriate action.”
