Severe storms rumble across the big country again on Tuesday evening

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – It’s time to prepare for another round of severe thunderstorms. We expect a situation similar to Monday’s series of storms again Tuesday afternoon and into the evening.
The difference for Tuesday is that much of West Texas, including the entire Great Country, is under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms. With the surface still wet from Monday night’s storm, flash flooding will be more of a problem Tuesday night.
In addition to flooding, very large hail is possible – up to the size of a baseball and damaging winds of up to 70 miles per hour. The threat of tornadoes has increased a little since yesterday. Although the threat is not high, a tornado or two is possible.
Storms are expected to move into western and northwest areas of the region a little later around 8 or 9 p.m. Monday, and are expected to continue moving eastward throughout the night.
The threat of severe thunderstorms continues through Wednesday with a marginal threat of severe thunderstorms for the region. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible throughout the week.
