Seriously gunshot wounded in Washington state shopping mall

One person was injured in a shooting on Friday at a shopping center in Tacoma, Wash., Which subsequently closed its doors to Black Friday shopping overnight, authorities said.

Shots were reported at the Tacoma Mall at 7:08 p.m., according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

One person was hospitalized with serious injuries, Tacoma police said.

Law enforcement came from “all over the county” to help find anyone who may have been linked to the shooting, the sheriff’s department tweeted.

No arrests were reported on Friday evening.

Some buyers had to take shelter in place while authorities searched and investigated, NBC affiliate KING of Seattle said.

The shooting is at least the second to take place at a shopping mall in the United States on busy Black Friday shopping day.

In Durham, North Carolina, three people, including a 10-year-old child, were injured in a shooting Friday afternoon at The Streets at Southpoint. Three other people sustained injuries that were not from gunshot wounds, Durham police said.
