Seattle Kraken full roster leaks ahead of expansion draft broadcast, spoiling ESPN’s NHL debut

The Kraken’s 30 picks were scheduled to be in the NHL by 10 a.m. ET. At 8:58 a.m. ET, the first tweet went out.

“The first word is that #SeaKraken is getting closer to contracts with two UFA defenders: Adam Larsson (EDM) and Jamie Oleksiak (DAL)”, Daily Faceoff insider and president of hockey content Frank Seravalli tweeted.

After that, the floodgates were open. As of 12:30 p.m. ET, 29 of the 30 picks were released.

KRAKEN ROSTER TRACKER: Latest Updates, Rumors & Picks

Of course, that left a lot of people scratching their heads as ESPN is set to air the expansion project. The reveal is the network’s first major production since the return of NHL broadcast rights to the United States. Now they have 90 minutes to fill in the plot and the drama pretty much, well, gone.

There are rumors circulating that the deals were plentiful, but until that was assured, Twitter did its best to help the producer fill out the show’s recap – and made a few jokes.
