Wilson suffered two middle finger injuries on his throwing hand in a Week 5 game against the The Los Angeles Rams when his hand touched the arm of the defensive tackle Aaron Donald on the follow-up to a pass attempt.

He was successfully operated on the next day and was due to miss at least four weeks, according to reports at the time.

“It will be really fun when he comes back and plays football for us again this year,” Carroll continued. “We owe a lot. You can see how tough it is. All those games, the Rams game… the Steelers and this one, Russell is a factor.”
