‘Scared’ boy in automobile phone calls 911 on mom accused of drunk driving, Kansas police say

A teenage boy in an SUV with his mom jumped into action just after acknowledging she was also drunk to push, Kansas police say.

The 14-yr-aged “became worried for himself and his siblings” whilst driving in the passenger seat of a Ford Explorer on Wednesday early morning in Liberal, police say.

He arrived at throughout the console, set the automobile in neutral and steered to the aspect of the street in advance of calling 911, law enforcement say. Officers responding to the scene for a 911 hold-up phone located the auto at a dwelling.

The 31-12 months-previous mother was arrested and billed with driving less than the affect, aggravated child endangerment and intimidation of a victim, law enforcement say. Her identity wasn’t unveiled.

The girl also was charged with domestic battery and legal damage connected to a different incident, law enforcement say.

Liberal is a metropolis of about 20,000 in western Kansas.
