am Kerr signed a two-year contract extension with Chelsea, keeping the club forward until 2024.
The Australian captain made her debut for Emma Hayes’ side in January 2020 and has since scored 39 goals in 47 games.
Kerr has already found the next six times in seven women’s Super League appearances this season, and the 28-year-old has made it clear that she sees her long-term future at Chelsea.
“It’s really exciting. I’m really happy at the club,” Kerr said.
“We have had good success, being at a club like Chelsea is an incredible opportunity.
“The timing was perfect, I really feel comfortable being here. I think the club gives me every chance to succeed as a player.
“I don’t see myself going anywhere in the world or leaving Europe, having what I have at Chelsea.”
Kerr won two WSL titles during her time in England and qualified for the Champions League final last season.
The chance to add more medals to his collection obviously played a major role in his decision to expand.
“The team speaks for itself, every day in training playing with world-class players; be challenged every day and win trophies at the same time, ”Kerr said.
“I didn’t win much when I got here and after last season I think it’s just obvious for me to stay.”
