Salah: Liverpool forward wins PFA Fan Player of the Year award

The Egypt international has been voted the best player of the English elite by football fans.

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has been announced as the winner of the 2020-21 PFA Premier League Fan Player of the Year.

The 28-year-old was once again one of Jurgen Klopp’s most notable players on the campaign, scoring 22 league goals and registering five more.

His efforts, however, were not enough to help the Reds claim the league title after finishing third behind Manchester United and winners Manchester City.

Fans, however, appreciated the striker’s impressive performances and overwhelmingly voted him as their most successful player of the campaign.

The light-footed striker scored 31 goals in all competitions last season and provided six assists in 50 appearances.

Salah has been with Liverpool since the summer of 2017, when he teamed up with AS Roma and delivered some eye-catching performances.

The Egypt international has twice won the Premier League Golden Boot and Player of the Season, among other individual accolades.

His contribution also enabled the Reds to win the Champions League trophy and domestic league titles, which had eluded them for several years.

The winger has two more years on his current contract and has already spoken of his desire to play in La Liga in the future.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Rami Shaaban has advised him to stay at Anfield, however, unless Real Madrid or Barcelona attempt to sign him.

“Liverpool fans love Salah, I want Salah to continue with the club even if he receives an offer from Paris Saint-Germain because the competition in England is stronger than in France,” Shaaban said. OnTime Sport TV.

“The situation will be different in one case, that is, if he receives an offer from a Spanish League team, and here we are talking about Real Madrid or Barcelona.

“I would have liked Salah to join Arsenal before moving to Chelsea, Salah’s style suits Arsenal.”

Salah is expected to continue his spectacular performances for Liverpool at the start of the preseason.

The two-time African Footballer of the Year is hoping to replicate his fine club form for Egypt in their World Cup qualifier against Angola in August.
