Rudy Giuliani has been accused of being drunk after mocking the Queen and discussing the sexual assault allegations against his son, Prince Andrew, in a rambling speech to commemorate September 11.
The old one New York City mayor and former lawyer of Donald trump addressed the crowd at an annual dinner at Cipriani restaurant in Manhattan on Saturday – in which he also berated the president Joe biden and called America’s top military officer an “idiot.”
In February 2002, he received an honorary title of Knight of the Queen – just months after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in recognition of his leadership.
During Saturday’s event, Mr. Giuliani attempted to impersonate the 95-year-old monarch and imitate a British accent.
He told his audience: “She said, ‘You did a great job on September 11th’.
“And so I make you an honorary knight, commander of the royal I don’t know what.”
He then falsely claimed that he refused “because if you became a knight you had to lose your citizenship”.
In other remarks, he denied being associated with Prince Andrew and underage girls.
He said: “I know Prince Andrew is very questionable now. I’ve never dated him – never. I’ve never had a drink with him, I’ve never been with a woman or a young girl. with him – never, never, never. “
Mr Giuliani also tore the Biden administration apart during the withdrawal from Afghanistan last month.
“I don’t know, I shouldn’t be going in there,” he said.
“What Biden has been doing over the past two weeks is completely crazy. It can’t be explained.”
The 77-year-old then sharply criticized General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, for his decision to withdraw from Bagram air base in Afghanistan.
He said, “I wanted to grab his stars and stick them down his throat and say, ‘It’s 400 miles from China, ******. “
“China is going to be our enemy for the next 40 years. You have an air base 400 miles from them, and you’re giving it up, idiot? What’s wrong with you? Who pays you? Lord! It’s crazy .”
A video of Mr Giuliani’s ramblings began circulating on social media, with many users accusing him of being drunk.
One person tweeted: “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone give a speech on an official occasion as drunk as Rudy Giuliani is at the dinner on September 11 right now.”
Another said: ‘Guys, indulge me here, Rudy Giuliani imploded yesterday at his annual 9/11 dinner, where he walked the podium drunk, mocking Queen Elizabeth and proclaiming that he had never been with Prince Andrew and a young girl. His life took a turn for the worse after his association. “
Mr Giuliani, who has represented Mr Trump at numerous hearings as the Republican Party sought to overturn last November’s loss to Mr Biden, was suspended from practicing law in New York in June due to bogus statements on the presidential election.
