At a press conference on Sunday, actress and activist Rose McGowan renewed her accusation that Gavin Newsom’s wife tried to keep her stories about Harvey Weinstein silent, also lambasting Democrats and Hollywood for their complicity.

McGowan was joined by Republican Larry Elder, who is running against Newsom in the ongoing recall election. She endorsed the GOP gubernatorial candidate and revealed that she actually had a unique history with him, linked to his time as a Tory radio host.

“I was listening to Larry Elder after driving home. “ said the ‘Charmed’ actress. “Sometimes I would even stop and use a false name, usually Tracy, to call.”

McGowan said she didn’t agree with everything the Republican had to say, compared to Newsom Elder is “the best candidate” and “better man.”

McGowan, who has sharply criticized the two main political parties in the United States, said she ultimately had to withdraw from the Democratic Party because “Everyone who harassed, harassed and robbed me while I was in Hollywood has been Democrats.”

McGowan claimed earlier this week that Newsom’s wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom had actually contacted her six months before the actress revealed her explosive sexual assault charges against Weinstein.

According to McGowan, Newsom’s wife was contacting her on behalf of Weinstein’s attorney, David Boies.

“So this woman, I don’t know, a blonde lady with the last name of Newsom, cold calls me, and was like, David Boies wants to know what it would take to ‘make you happy’,” McGowan told ‘The Rubin Report’ last week.

At the time, McGowan said she found recording devices, felt like she was being stalked, and naked photos and videos of her were being posted on the internet, all tactics ‘she believes that Boies and Weinstein’s former ally Lisa Bloom – “another great democrat”, McGowan said sarcastically – were behind, and some are more detailed in a New Yorker report detailing the private spies Weinstein used to keep accusers like McGowan silent.

The actress hung up the call, but claimed Newsom’s wife previously tried to impersonate a Weinstein victim to get into a private messaging group. “Weinstein rape victims”. McGowan said she forgot about the emails until she recently encountered them and the “Newsom” connection clicked in her head.

“I had forgotten this lady. I had forgotten this betrayal ”, she admitted.

According to a Washington Free Beacon report, Newsom himself accepted expensive bottles of wine from Boies, including just weeks after the New Yorker’s explosive story was released.

When Elder, arguably the most popular of Newsom’s challengers, stepped behind the microphone on Sunday, he targeted the media for not paying enough attention to McGowan’s serious accusations.

“If someone said my partner reached out to Rose McGowan and said, what can we do to make this go away, that’s all you’d be talking about until the end of this campaign,” Elder said, adding that McGowan produced emails sent by Sieber Newsom. She said she sent the emails to Politico today.

McGowan has previously posted what she said were emails from Siebel Newsom in which she appeared to acknowledge having contacted McGowan, as well as having a family member working with Boeis.

Siebel Newsom denied the charges in a statement, calling them “Complete manufacture”.

After the press conference, McGowan tweeted about Newsom and his potential knowledge of his wife’s alleged actions, saying: “What did he know and when did he know it?”

Harvey Weinstein also continues to deny the charges against him, although the disgraced producer has been convicted of other assault charges and other charges are still pending in California.

Sunday’s press conference took place two days before the recall election, mainly driven by growing citizen dissatisfaction with Newsom’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. If Elder is successful in toppling Newsom, the Democratic governor will be the third to be recalled in state history, the latest being Gray Davis, who was replaced by Republican actor Arnold Schwarzenegger in a recall election in 2003.
