This prevented the cops from seeing inside the van.

It is not known if there are other people inside the vehicle besides the driver, according to CBS.

The vehicle would be on Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive, where a standoff with the cops was in progress.

This initially caused a traffic hazard in the Wilshire Boulevard and Spalding Drive area, CBS said.

The authorities tried to contact the driver but he drove off before stopping again at the intersection where the deadlock is currently taking place.

Authorities are asking people to avoid the scene and traffic is diverted from the area.
