ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI is mounting the pressure on Bayern Munich after confirming he will be leaving the club.
The forward has one year left on his contract but his agent is reportedly pressuring the German champions to start negotiations with Barcelona.
There have been numerous rumors that Lewandowski, 33, is keen on a move to Xavi’s side, as they look to challenge Real Madrid at the top of La Liga again.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Poland international’s agent Pini Zahavi is pushing for the club to open talks over his impending departure.
Romano tweeted: “Lewandowski’s agent Zahavi will push Bayern to open talks to sell him ‘as soon as possible’. His main priority is always the same: Barcelona.”
The Ballon D’or runner-up has enjoyed another outstanding season this year, scoring 50 goals in just 46 games in all competitions.
Lewandowski’s individual brilliance translated into domestic success, as Bayern won their 10th consecutive Bundesliga title.
The main disappointment for Julian Nagelsmann’s side was the Champions League, a competition they won in 2020.
Villarreal stunned the Germans in the quarter-finals, who suffered heartache in the same way as Lewandowski’s supposed future club.
Despite a revival under Xavi, Barcelona fell out of the Europa League for the first time in their history, before being knocked out by runners-up Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals.

The club legend led his side to a 15-game unbeaten streak in the league, including a 4-0 win against rivals Madrid.
Acquiring Lewandowski would further bolster their firepower, following the shrewd move to acquire Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.
The Catalan side, however, face their own transfer problems, with Manchester United and Manchester City heavily linked with Dutch midfielder Frankie de Jong.
