There were few surprises in FIFA 22’s top Bundesliga XI, which features Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland.
Lewandowski and Haaland, who play for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund respectively, are the best forwards in the league.
Polish star Lewandowski beat Gerd Muller’s 40 goals in a Bundesliga season record last season, while Haaland scored 66 goals in as many appearances for Dortmund.
But Lewandowski will feel the happiest with himself following the release of the FIFA 22 ratings. Ranked at 92, the 33-year-old is the second best player of the game behind Lionel Messi (93).
Whether he is the second best player in the world is up for debate, but there is no doubt about his ability to find the net.
“I think Robert Lewandowski is the best forward in the world,” Dean Ashton told talkSPORT last month. “In terms of number 9, I think no one is better and I include Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Haaland in that.”
Bayern and Dortmund dominated the squad, with 10 of 11 players playing for one of them. Mathias Ginter of Borussia Mönchengladbach was the only non-Bayern or Dortmund player to make the cut.
Elsewhere the midfielder was all of Bayern, with Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich playing in the middle with Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller on either side of them.
Alphonso Davies is Bayern’s lone defender, with Ginter and Dortmund’s duo Raphael Guerreiro and Mats Hummels making up the rest of the back line. Manuel Neuer is the goalkeeper.
FIFA 22 is slated to launch on October 1 and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Windows.
