Riverdale’s Ryan Grantham sentenced to life for killing his mother

Ryan Grantham’s fate has been revealed.

The 24-year-old, who previously starred on the CW series Riverdale, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 14 years, according to a statement obtained by E! BC Prosecution Services News September 22. The court also issued a lifetime gun ban for Grantham during the September 20 sentencing. Life imprisonment and a gun ban are mandatory for second-degree murder in British Columbia, the statement said.

After his sentence, Ryan’s attorney Chris Johnson says E! News that Grantham had “worked very hard to turn his life around” after his arrest.

“He’s had a lot of psychological help and he’s struggled with what he’s done and coped with it,” Johnson said in a statement, “but hopefully he can spend the rest of his life making amends.”

The B.C. Supreme Court’s decision comes after he pleaded guilty in March to second-degree murder in the case of his mother’s death, according to a statement obtained by E! News in June from Dan McLaughlin of the British Columbia Prosecution Service.
