The Ontario Provincial Police said the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. in the eastbound collector lanes west of Bayview Avenue when a driver traveling in the opposite direction collided head-on with another vehicle.
Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Kerry Schmidt said the 35-year-old Mississauga woman who was driving the wrong way, along with a 53-year-old man from Angus, Ont., were both pronounced dead on places.

Schmidt said police are investigating whether weather or poor visibility played a role in the crash.
The eastbound collector lanes approaching Bayview Avenue were closed due to the collision, but have since reopened.
