The government finally reshuffled, the opposition makes fun of “musical chairs”
Allies of LREM promoted, Damien Abad exfiltrated: the government was finally reshuffled this Monday morning, two weeks after the legislative elections, with the objective of launching the second five-year term of Emmanuel Macron. He is already criticized by the oppositions who denounce a “game of musical chairs”. The new government team will meet for a first Council of Ministers at 4 p.m. This reshuffle, then the general policy speech delivered by Elisabeth Borne on Wednesday – for which she has still not said whether she would seek the confidence of the deputies by a vote – should make it possible to close what seemed like a long period of uncertainty for the executive, since the re-election of Emmanuel Macron on April 24, almost two and a half months ago. Eastern Ukraine pounded, conference on reconstruction in Switzerland
The Russian army continues to pound eastern Ukraine and progresses in its plan to conquer the whole of Donbass, after taking the strategic city of Lysytchansk, at a time when in Switzerland, the Lugano Conference is already preparing the rebuilding phase. The staff of the Ukrainian armed forces announced Sunday evening its withdrawal from Lysytchansk, at the heart of fierce fighting in recent weeks, recognizing the “superiority” of Russian troops on the ground, in this region of Lugansk, in the east of Ukraine. After taking Lyssytchansk, the centerpiece of the plan to conquer this largely Russian-speaking industrial basin of the Donbass and partly controlled by pro-Russian separatists since 2014, the Russian army now seems to be concentrating its efforts on Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, two major cities more to the west, pounded relentlessly since Sunday.
