“Calling for the resignation of a sitting president is a grim business. This morning I presented three resolutions calling for the resignation of the president, the defense secretary and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs,” said the Republican of Louisiana .
The president should voluntarily step down to preserve “a minimum of honor” and pave the way for Vice President Kamala Harris, Higgins said. He added that he believed it was possible that Biden “was not in his right mind” and said compassion required a call for the president to voluntarily step down from power.
