The last US troops left Afghanistan on Monday. For 20 years, the brave men and women of the armed forces of the United States, along with countless allies in Afghanistan and around the world, have fought to ensure global security and the interests of the United States by keeping terrorists at bay. Remote and remote Middle East.

Our troops have succeeded in their mission and deserve our deepest gratitude for the sacrifices they have made for this country.

Along the way, many of them forged strong relationships with the Afghan people who stood by our side, and they feel a deep sense of responsibility towards those who have shown courage in standing up against the Taliban to fight. alongside American forces.

While it may be time for the conflict in Afghanistan to come to an end, President Joe Biden’s incompetence and lack of an exit strategy is betraying both our allies and the men and women who fought. Biden not only made the decision to recklessly abandon our Afghan allies, but left American citizens, unprotected, stranded as the Taliban took the country.

While getting out of Afghanistan is indeed in America’s best interests, Biden once again created a preventable humanitarian crisis.

Former Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates previously said Biden was “wrong about almost every major foreign and national security policy issue in the past four decades,” noting how a Biden’s presidency would be dangerous to our national security. Unfortunately for the American people, it turned out to be correct.

Biden seems completely oblivious to his own failures. Instead of showing leadership and owning the situation in front of him, Biden refuses to take responsibility for another crisis he created.

Biden was wrong when he said it was “very unlikely” that the Taliban would invade Afghanistan.

In April, Biden lied to the American people, saying, “We will not rush for the exit. We will do so responsibly, deliberately and safely.” He not only made our troops run for the exits, he made them do so in the middle of the night.

Once again, Biden was wrong to say that there would be “no circumstance where you will see people being lifted off the roof of an embassy” in Afghanistan. I am disappointed with the actions of this administration and saddened by what it means for those who are suffering.

Worst of all is the fact that Biden seems completely oblivious to his own failures. Instead of showing leadership and owning the situation in front of him, Biden refuses to take responsibility for another crisis he created. Even former Obama adviser David Axelrod has said Biden “has to face” the failure in Afghanistan, but he fell on deaf ears.

In his speech to the nation, Biden’s “the money stops with me” quip was drowned out by his finger and blame stretching in all directions. Blaming the old administration, the Afghan government and even the Afghan people who have been left behind is his great responsibility as President of the United States.

The bottom line is that when the Americans were in danger, he left them behind.

This situation arises among a myriad of other crises directly caused by this administration.

Democrats need to start holding this administration accountable. Otherwise, the world will continue to watch America grow weaker and weaker on the international stage.

This crisis rests squarely on the shoulders of Joe Biden. Our military personnel, our partners in Afghanistan and our allies around the world deserve better, and Americans will not forget the damage he has caused.
