Reece James posts injury update on Instagram, hints Chelsea return is coming ‘very soon’

Chelsea captain Reece James kept fans up to date on his journey to recovery with a positive update on his Instagram.
The right-back has only made one appearance for the Blues this season due to a hamstring injury.

This was maintained after their 1-1 draw against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign.
January signing Malo Gusto played in his absence and did so at a solid level in his first full season.
James was named club captain in the summer, but Ben Chilwell and Conor Gallagher took the armband during his recovery.
Chelsea have been dealing with numerous injuries in recent weeks, but James could be ready to return to the team very soon.

Taking to his Instagram Story, he posted a photo of himself on the exercise bike as he looks to get back on the court very soon.
In another message ahead of their clash with Aston Villa, he said: “Happy Sunday, I’ll be back very soon.”
James has had fitness issues since breaking into Chelsea’s first team in 2019.
He missed 20 games during the 2021/22 campaign and a further 25 last season, with knee and hamstring injuries spoiling his playing time.

The 23-year-old hasn’t been the Blues’ only notable absence this season, as they are yet to have a fully fit squad.
Wesley Fofana is out for several months with an ACL injury and summer signing Christopher Nkunku is out of action with his own knee knock.
Newcomer Romeo Lavia is yet to play for the club and is currently recovering from an ankle injury.
However, Blues fans received some positive news as Armando Broja returned to the team by being named on the bench for the visit of Villa on Sunday.
